The following guidelines should be noted by Parents
- When you arrive, please help your child find their name tag hanging on a hook in the cloakroom and then place it on the Registration Board in the main room (right-hand side).
- Please sign your child in on the sheet provided and sign out when you collect them.
- The entrance door will open at 9.00am and registration is at 9.10am. If you are running late the gate will be padlocked. Please use the buzzer to contact us, do not go through the school.
- You can leave your child after 9.00am as soon as they have settled. If they are upset, please speak to an Auntie; they are there to help.
- The session finishes at 12.00pm. Please be punctual when picking up your child. Children quickly become distressed when their parent/carer is late. If you are not picking up your child the Playschool must know who it will be, this applies to lunch club as well.
- Your child will be encouraged to go to the toilet by themselves, so it is helpful if you dress them in clothes that are easy for them to remove, like elasticated waists rather than buttons, zips, belts or dungarees.
- Any item of clothing to be removed should be clearly marked with the child’s name.
- Please do not allow your child to bring food with them into the session.
- If you bring your child in a buggy or on a tricycle, please take it away with you.
- We offer milk or water to drink in a cup. Please let an Auntie know which your child prefers.
- Every half term we have a special theme, e.g. toys, colours, shapes, animals, transport etc. and we like to encourage the children to bring items in from home to show everyone at either registration or story time. Information about the themes is on the notice board.
- Please look at and read all notices put on the notice boards, they are there for your benefit. We have regular news letters to keep you informed of any fund raising events, term dates, special days, children’s activities, etc.
- Books for Sale – each half term there will be some books on display in the cloakroom for you to buy from “The Book People Ltd.” They are extremely good value and Playschool receive free books if you purchase any.
- Parent Rota – we are always very pleased to have parents come in and help during a session but we advise parents of new children to wait until their child has been at Playschool for at least half a term.
- All our policies are available for your inspection in a red folder in the cloakroom.
- Playschool is a NUT FREE ZONE
- Please do not park in the school grounds or block the school entrance.
- Our Playschool is run by a committee of parents who volunteer their services for fund raising events and the general running of Playschool. If you could spare one evening a month and are keen to help, join our friendly committee and make some new friends. Without a COMMITTEE Playschool cannot run.
- Playschool sweatshirts are for sale at £9.00, t-shirts at £5.00 and sun hats are £5.00.
- If information is required in additional languages, please ask and we will obtain this.
